Erika Shiri-Wasto

Erika’s professional background has mostly been in non-profit. Erika grew up in California, and worked in programs and operations for a small, local organization that focused on food, housing and job training for youth in Orange County. She then worked in programs and later development for a national foster care organization.

Erika joined ACGC in February, 2024, drawn to ACGC’s mission. In her role, Erika sees how ACGC services benefit many kids, and believes these services are indeed life changing to youth and families navigating challenging times. She loves the work ACGC does, especially through the Infant and Early Childhood program where ACGC clinicians will sometimes provide trauma-informed training to daycare center staff. She knows how important daycare is for many parents and to have staff that is trained to deal with behaviors ensures that children get to stay in daycare and parents can have a peace of mind that they can trust staff no matter what comes up for their child that day.

Outside of ACGC, you can find Erika trying out new coffee shops around Austin or going on a hunt for her next thrift find.
