Internships & Practicum at ACGC
Austin Child Guidance Center (ACGC) is a leading clinical training site in Central Texas for aspiring mental health professionals. Through our Pathways to Practice (P2P) program, we provide hands-on, paid training experiences that prepare students and early-career clinicians to deliver high-quality, culturally responsive care.
Who We Accept
We welcome:
- Students ranging from associate-level to graduate-level
- Students from Austin Community College, St. Edward’s University, Texas State University, and the University of Texas at Austin
- Provisionally licensed clinicians seeking supervised clinical hours
What We Offer
Paid Internships
- Stipends up to $10,000, depending on academic level
- Associate, Bachelor's, and Master’s-levels
- Funded through generous philanthropic support
No-Cost Clinical Supervision
- Individual and group supervision provided by the Clinical Supervisor/Intern Coordinator
- Supervision costs absorbed by ACGC
Hands-On Clinical Experience
Students and trainees may gain experience in:
- Therapy
- Intake
- Case management
- Community outreach
- Mental health consultation
Training includes exposure to evidence-based models such as:
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
- Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
- Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)
