Dr. Laura Amoscato
Dr. Amoscato received her Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University of Texas-Austin. She completed her doctoral internship at the Sarah Reed Children’s Center in Erie, PA and her post-doctoral work at ACGC. Dr. Amoscato’s primary experience is in psychiatric residential treatment, working with children who have multiple, complex traumas. She has particular experience working with children who have PTSD, anxiety, depression, and a history of suicidal/self-harm behaviors. She also trained in and provided safe crisis management for verbally and physically aggressive clients. Dr. Amoscato previously served as both the Assistant Director and the Director of the Psychology Internship Training Program at Sarah Reed. She supervised doctoral interns providing individual and family therapy services through the APA accredited internship program. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Amoscato served as the Director of Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement at SARCC where she partnered with the Director of Residential Services to lower physical restraints by 50%.
