Megan Carvajal is the Director of Consulting Services at Mission Capital. In her role, Megan oversees a team of consulting experts, as well as consults on nonprofit capacity building projects. She has served the Central Texas nonprofit community for more than 20 years as a fundraiser and executive leader, raising funds and leading teams for several nonprofits including SAFE, Any Baby Can, and United Way for Greater Austin.
Megan is a graduate of Indiana University – Purdue University Lily Family School of Philanthropy’s Nonprofit Executive Leadership Program, as well as Leadership Austin’s 2008 Emerge program. When she’s not doing nonprofit-y stuff, Megan and her wife are rediscovering Austin as empty nesters, attending Sofar events as well as their favorite live music shows, Karaoke Apocalypse. Megan and Patty have a 19 year old daughter (she’s the most amazing human, in their opinion) who is currently serving as a volunteer missionary in Tucson AZ through the PCUSA.
Megan joined the ACGC board because the mission is deeply personal for her family. Having adopted her daughter from the foster care system, Megan understands firsthand the significant impact accessible and affordable high-quality therapy can make in a child’s life. Supporting the opportunity to offer the same gift to other children and their families was an easy choice for Megan and why she said YES! to joining the Board of Directors.
