Austin Child Guidance Center offers walk-in therapy services for children, up to age 17, and their family members, on Fridays (2 p.m. to 4 p.m.). Mental health professionals are available to talk with youth and families who are struggling. Walk-in services are open to current clients as well those children and families in the community who have been unable to access traditional, ongoing therapy due to waiting lists; parents who are concerned about their child’s behavior and are seeking advice are also welcome. For training purposes, sessions may be observed by ACGC therapists and staff. Walk-in services will be offered on a sliding fee scale (no insurance). For more information, please contact us at (512) 451-2242.
Are you a graduate student or mental health professional interested in participating as a volunteer therapist at ACGC’s walk-in therapy clinic? This is a great opportunity for training and expanding your skill set. Supervision for psychologists and LPC/LMFTs is available. We ask that volunteers commit to at least two Fridays per month. Please contact Arnie Slive, Ph.D. at arnie@slive.ca for more information.
